ਭਵਿਸ਼ਯ ਪੁਰਾਣ (ਭਵਿਸ਼ਯ ਪੁਰਾਣ) ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਸੰਪਰਦਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਅਠਾਰਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਰਚਨਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ। ਸਿਰਲੇਖ "ਭਵਿੱਖ" ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ "ਭਵਿੱਖ", ਇਹ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਬਾਰੇ ਭਵਿੱਖਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ।

ਭਵਿਸ਼ਯ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਕਰਣ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਮੇਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਾਂਦੇ, ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੇ ਉਪ-ਭਾਗ ਵੱਖਰੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਸੰਸਕਰਣ ਜਾਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਕੁਝ ਹੱਥ-ਲਿਖਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਾਰ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਹਨ, ਕੁਝ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ। ਅੱਜ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਟੈਕਸਟ ਮੱਧ ਯੁੱਗ ਤੋਂ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਮੇਲ ਹੈ। ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪੁਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਹੱਥ-ਲਿਖਤਾਂ ਅੰਸ਼ਕ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਗ੍ਰੰਥਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਬ੍ਰਹਿਤ ਸੰਹਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੰਭਪੁਰਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਲਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਵਿਦਵਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਭਵਿਸ਼ਯ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣਿਕਤਾ 'ਤੇ ਸਵਾਲ ਉਠਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਪਾਠ ਨੂੰ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਸੰਪਰਦਾ ਦੇ "ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਦੁਹਰਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਸ਼ੈਲੀ" ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਭਵਿਸ਼ਯ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਭਾਗ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਲੇ 16 ਅਧਿਆਏ ਨੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਪਰਵਮ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਮਨੁਸਮ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਸੰਸਕਰਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਤੁਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਸਮਾਨਤਾ ਹੈ। ਹਾਲਾਂਕਿ, ਭਵਿਸ਼ਯ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਚਰਚਾਵਾਂ ਸਮਾਨਤਾਵਾਦੀ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ 19ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਮਨੁਸਮ੍ਰਿਤੀ ਹੱਥ-ਲਿਖਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਚਰਚਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਣੌਤੀ ਦਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਪਾਠ ਦਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਗ, ਮੱਧ ਹਵਾ, ਰਣਨੀਤੀ 'ਤੇ ਕੰਮ ਹੈ। "ਭਵਿੱਖਬਾਣੀ" ਦਾ ਤੀਜਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਈਸਾਈਅਤ, ਇਸਲਾਮ, ਭਗਤੀ ਲਹਿਰ, ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ, ਸਲਤਨਤ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ, ਮੁਗਲ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ, ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਵਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਲਿਪੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ 18ਵੀਂ ਤੋਂ 19ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉੱਤਰਪਰਵਮਿਆ ਦੇ ਚੌਥੇ ਭਾਗ ਨੂੰ ਭਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਸੂਤਰ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਆਖਰੀ ਭਾਗ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਦੇਵੀ-ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਾਰੀਖਾਂ (ਚੰਦਰੀ ਕੈਲੰਡਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਾਰੀਖਾਂ) ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਤਿਉਹਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਪੁਰਾਣਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮਾਂ, ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਵ੍ਰਤ (ਵਰਤ) ਅਤੇ ਦਾਨ (ਦਾਨ ਧਰਮ) ਦੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਦਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਤਾਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੂਗੋਲ, ਯਾਤਰਾ ਗਾਈਡ ਅਤੇ ਉਥਿਰਮੇਰੂਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਤੀਰਥ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਅਧਿਆਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਤੀਰਥ-ਸਥਾਨ ਕੇਂਦਰਿਤ ਪੁਰਾਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ।
