ਵਰਾਹ ਪੁਰਾਣ (ਹਿੰਦੀ: वराह रण, वराह पुराण) ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਰਾਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਸ਼ੈਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਨਾਰਾਇਣਨ (ਵਿਸ਼ਨੂੰ) ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵੈਸ਼ਨਵ ਸਾਹਿਤਕ ਚੱਕਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ (ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੀ, ਵੈਸ਼ਨਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਰੌਦਰੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਕੇਂਦਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਧਿਆਏ ਹਨ।

ਪਾਠ ਕਈ ਸੰਸਕਰਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੁਆਚ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਵਾਰ 10ਵੀਂ ਅਤੇ 12ਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੂਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੋਂ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਸੰਸ਼ੋਧਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਾਕੀ ਹੱਥ-ਲਿਖਤਾਂ ਲਿੰਗਪੁਰਾਣ ਜਿੰਨੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੰਜ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਤਾਵਾਂ ਉਮੀਦ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ। ਵਿਦਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਵਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਮਿੱਥ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਹੱਥ-ਲਿਖਤਾਂ ਵੈਸ਼ਨਵ ਰੀਤੀ ਰਿਵਾਜਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਣੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਿਵ, ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਹਨ।

ਵਰਾਹ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਰਾਣ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ, ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਨੂੰ ਦਾ ਵਰਾਹ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਾਣਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਸੰਹਿਤਾ, ਕਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਬਾਰੇ ਵੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਪਾਲ ਦੇ ਮੰਦਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਥਾਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਮੱਧਕਾਲੀ ਭੂਗੋਲ (ਸੈਰ-ਸਪਾਟਾ ਮਾਰਗਦਰਸ਼ਕ) ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਣਾ ਦਿਲਚਸਪ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਥੁਰਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਲੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਹੋਰ ਪੁਰਾਣਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
